Hedgehogs and how we can help them with Landkey Hedgehog Group

Hedgehogs are in trouble. Numbers of hedgehogs have fallen dramatically in recent years both in rural and urban environments. But.. there are groups of dedicated hedgehog champions all over the country mobilising to help these curious and gentle creatures.

Landkey Hedgehog Group is one such group. Started in September 2022 by Karen Thomas,  the aim of the group is to raise awareness of the needs of hedgehogs and how we can all support their population. The group has grown from an initial attendance of 6 to over 18 at monthly meetings and over 90 followers on Facebook. They have formed partnerships with South Molton Men’s Shed, North Devon Biosphere, Hedgehog Rescue centres and the local primary schools.

This talk will focus how the group was formed and their continuing work within the village to support the local hedgehog population. Come and be inspired about how you could help these beautifully spiky mammals.
