Join Mary and Debbie to look at ways of how to encourage wildlife to our communities and support their restoration to a wide range of habitats. Mary will be leading a presentation on “Wildflowers: How to encourage them” with photos from around Braunton and the surrounding area. Debbie will follow this with a talk about highlights of a wildlife garden with photos from her Fremington Garden.
About the event
The evening will include two presentations with ideas and photos illustrating how to make our surroundings more wildlife friendly. There will be a break with refreshments and a raffle part way through the evening with time for questions , answers and discussion at the end of the session.
Mary Breeds has a wide range of experience for many years in the North Devon area including botanical surveys, leading guided walks, advising on habitat management, planning and running work parties, giving talks and planning and leading activities for all age groups. Mary works for the Braunton Countryside Centre, the Devon Wildlife Trust, The Devonshire Association Botany Section as well as a wide range of other organisations.
Debbie Frazer is a volunteer for the Devon Wildlife Trust local group , Bumblebee Conservation Bee walk project ; British Trust for Ornithology Garden Bird Watch survey and does a variety of other recording in North Devon . She is a keen wildlife gardener and also helps run activities locally linked to wildlife
An entry donation of £3 is asked for to cover costs of the session with surplus being sent to the Devon Wildlife Trust for use on local reserves and projects.
