The grade II listed ‘Angel’s Wings’ was built by Sir James Hamlyn Williams in 1826, and is one of several shelters he constructed around the estate. Sir James’ daughter, Lady Chichester, lived across the bay at Youlston Manor near Shirwell, and he sited the shelter here so that he could look across to where she lived.
