The North Devon Coast AONB is defined by its Special Qualities. These are what make our AONB so special. There are 14 Special Qualities and for each of these we have chosen a place within the AONB where you can see what we mean.

Special Quality 3 –  Narrow framed views of the sea from coastal mouths of steep-sided combes.

This is an intimate view of the Bideford Bay coast, taken amongst the coastal woodlands of Hobby Drive near Clovelly. One of the defining qualities of this part of the coastline are these rare and special glimpsed views out to sea, looking through oak woodland that cloak the cliff edge.
