Join us for a special guided walk over the flower-carpeted dunes of Braunton Burrows, with a focus on herbal plants and their medicinal uses. This walk will be led by local botanist, Mary Breeds. The walk will take frequent stops to look at the many different wild plants in their natural habitats and to discuss their use in herbal medicine today and in years gone by.
Braunton Burrows is an excellent venue for this themed walk as it is home to an astonishing number of plants well known for their use in herbal medicine. Attractive species such as evening primrose, eyebright, St John’s Wort, melilot and wild thyme can all be seen flowering in abundance. This promises to be an enjoyable and fascinating event for anyone interested in the healing properties of wild plants.
Meet at Sandy Lane Car Park. Suggested £4 donation* on the day.
