From May to October 2025 the National Landscape Association and Creative Executive Producers Activate Performing Arts, presented a new and exciting programme of art commissions, made by writers and artists of all disciplines, engaging new audiences across some of our unique National Landscapes – NATURE CALLING

As well as 6 “hubs” National Landscapes across the country commissioned individual art projects and invited people to enjoy and connect in new ways of experiencing our natural world.

Here in North Devon Red Herring Productions teamed up with Olga Vynnyk, a photographer from the Ukraine, and Rose Young, a British-Jamaican community activist and inclusion advocate in North Devon.

Their project; This Place Calls To Me, involved taking women from a variety of nationalities and backgrounds on creative walks around Braunton Burrows.

These images can be seen at an exhibition in the foyer of Barnstaple Library from the 2-12 January 2026.
