BioBlitz 2025 – North Devon Coast

Friday 27th June

8:30pm – 10:30pm Nighttime Nature Exploration

Join us for an unforgettable evening adventure as we explore the Atlantic Academy grounds and the enchanting Buck’s Mills woodland after dark. Perfect for nature enthusiasts, stargazers, and curious minds alike, this event offers a rare glimpse into the nocturnal world.

Our journey begins at Atlantic Academy, where species-rich grasslands and wooded areas provide a haven for wildlife. As twilight descends, we’ll set up moth and mammal traps to uncover the secret lives of the creatures that emerge after sunset.

From there, we’ll venture into the mysterious Buck’s Mills woodland and delve into the world of bats. Using bat detectors, we’ll listen to their ultrasonic calls and discover how these fascinating animals hunt, navigate, and thrive in the night sky.
