Braunton Burrows lies at the heart of the North Devon Biosphere Reserve. Its sand dunes and damp slacks boast a unique, rich diversity of plant and animal life, with over 470 species of flowering plant (including 11 species of orchid alone). It is also home to a wide range of fauna – an abundance of insects that includes 33 species of butterfly, many nesting birds and 5 of the 6 reptile species found in the UK.

Renowned local naturalist Mary Breeds, from the Braunton Countryside Centre will lead a circular guided walk of approximately 4 miles exploring the dunes and the spring flora and fauna that are special to this area.

Starting at the Sandy Lane car park, the walk will follow paths through the Braunton Burrows, traversing some sand and uneven terrain but staying on relatively flat ground.
